GHANA IN ITS CRADLE

Ghana is still in its cradle
Our resources scream to be refined
Our states scream for development
Ghana is still in its cradle

Babies grow,
Times change,
Things get better,
Yet Ghana is still in its cradle

60years screaming for help
60years hoping to see a light,
A light at the end of a dark tunnel
And Ghana is still in its cradle

Kwame Nkrumah
Jerry John Rawlings
John Agyekum Kuffour
John Evans Atta Mills
John Dramani Mahama
William Akuffo Addo
Yet Ghana is still in its cradle

We yearn for change
We hope for grace
We crave for success
We preach the peace
And yet Ghana is still in cradle

How long will we continue to crawl?
How long will we still scream?
How long will we feel this heat?
Yes, How long will Ghana continue to be in its cradle?

I hope to see my motherland walk some day
I hope to see my motherland become a superpower too
I hope that some day we would reach the light we seek
Yet I can only Hope
Because Ghana is still in its cradle!

Let us put our country first,
Let us let go of self
Let us embrace the ideals of a nation
Let us let go of laziness and apathy
Let us embrace hardwork
Let us erase hatred
Let us embrace love
Because Ghana is still in its cradle

If we wrap ourselves in the true cloth of education
If we stop the killings and the POLITRICKS
If the right people are given the job
If favoritism and nepotism become a thing of the past,
Maybe that day Ghana will stand
We may even begin to walk, or maybe run
Who knows? We may even fly!
But for now, Ghana remains in its cradle.
